The Hayden Duet System Concertina app offers a user-friendly experience for both iPhone and iPad users interested in learning to play the concertina.

Featuring the Hayden system duet concertina layout, this app simplifies the learning process with note arrangement in scale order, making it accessible for beginners and experienced players alike.

The iPad version is designed to emulate the full 53-button R. Morse Beaumont model while introducing an additional D# on the left-hand side. This enhancement allows users to explore the full range of commonly available Hayden concertina variations within the app.

Important Note: Users of the iPad version are advised to disable "Multitasking Gestures" prior to playing. This setting, located in the General section of the Settings app, aids in facilitating smooth chord play when using multiple fingers.

Playing the iPhone Version:
<ul>
 <li>The layout features an octave differential, with the left side positioned one octave below the right. Scales transition from each side towards the center.</li>
 <li>Two primary layout options are available: mirror image and inverted.</li>
 <li>Users can engage with the instrument by pressing buttons or sliding fingers between them, and chords can be formed through simultaneous button presses.</li>
 <li>To navigate layout options, tap the '?' button to cycle through configurations: mirror image with labels, mirror image without labels, inverted with labels, and inverted without labels.</li>
 <li>The "i" button provides access to a settings page for pitch transposition adjustments of up to one octave in semitone increments. A quick tap on the transpose reset number will set it back to zero.</li>

Playing the iPad Version:
<ul>
 <li>Similar to the iPhone version, interaction involves pressing buttons or sliding fingers across them.</li>
 <li>Chords can be performed by pressing multiple buttons simultaneously.</li>
 <li>Tapping the '?' button allows users to show or hide note labels.</li>
 <li>The "i" button brings up settings for pitch transposition, similar to the iPhone version.</li>
</ul>

The app distinguishes itself through high-quality per-note audio samples recorded from a premium concertina, enhancing the overall musical experience. Special appreciation is extended to Don Taylor for his contribution of stunning graphics for the iPad version and for including imagery based on the elegant R. Morse Beaumont Hayden Concertina.
